At this great Holiday season, we have really been amazed at how blessed we are. Jared has a good job, we have all for the most part been in good health, our kids are good and happy. We have some amazing friends and family, and we couldn't ask for more, we appreciate all of the prayers and support for Jared's Dad.
Grandpa Mike is doing pretty good he has another spot on his neck and has started radiation again, but besides being tired and worn out his spirits seem high and we continue to pray for him, while trying to make some good memories in the mean time.
Our trip to Hawaii was fantastic, the entire family was able to go, all 21 of us. The logistics of getting 21 people to the airport and in vans and on airplanes is highly entertaining. You have to picture this 11 children, 10 Adults all of which have a backpack, a carry-on and a personal item, along with a few checked bags, 3 car seats, a few boogie boards and no one was lost! To me the funniest part was airport security, no one would be in line, and by the time we took all the kids shoes off and sent them through, there would be a nice line and then we would still have to send through all of the carry-ons and back packs.
We had an amazing time, we were able to snorkel, swim, boogie board, kayak, and surf. Ask Jared who the better surfer is him or me, and if he says him you can laugh because its not! The best part of the trip was the last day when we were able to swim with dolphins, this wasn't planned but when we got to the beach that day and looked out in the water we could see something swimming around, so we grabbed the boogie boards, and the snorkel stuff and swam out. About 1/2 a mile out there were about 25 dolphins, we could hear all of their little sounds and they were probably swimming 10-12 feet under us and a few times came within about 6 feet of us. That made the entire trip, it was almost a spiritual experience. We also discovered Hawaiian shaved ice a new favorite treat for the entire family..Kind of like a snow cone and then they pour sweet and condensed milk on the top! YUMMY! We stayed in an incredible house huge house, each family had its own bedroom. Really nice pool, with waterslide, tons of fruit trees. Everyone like I said had an amazing time.
So now it is December, we went on our trip in October and I am only now writing about it. Maybe one day I will figure out how to stay on top of everything. That might be a good New Years resolution for me.
Also, my sister had her baby Sophia Marie Kerr was born on November 14, and she is really cute everyone loves her, and I think that Cassie and Matt are starting to get a handle on the whole parenting thing.
